A Nederland nurse is formally charged by the Texas Board of Nursing for allegedly altering a Texas nursing board document around the end of July.

Nederland Family Nurse Practitioner Kevin Morgan told 12news in July that the Texas Board of Nursing started looking into his charts for inappropriate use of hormones in November of 2016 after two physicians reported him.

He showed 12news a letter from the Board which stated “This letter is to inform you that the investigation regarding your alleged violation of the Nursing Practice Act remains open. However, there have been no findings in the investigation.”

However, In the formal charges document the board states Morgan altered their letter by adding “there were no findings in the investigation” in the letter to “likely deceive the public.”

The Board filed formal charges against Morgan on August 31.

He owns the Optimum Medical Weight Control and Family Wellness in Nederland.

In the formal charges, it said he could face punishment up to revocation of his license.

The board also stated they will rely on adopted policies related to behavior involving lying and falsification as well as behavior involving fraud, theft and deception.

12news contacted the Texas Board of Nursing to ask for the original letter but they would not release it for confidentiality reasons.

The formal charges documents are listed below.

12News contacted the office of Kevin Morgan and have not yet received a response.
