Historic Results in Race for Jefferson County Sheriff

Zena Stephens will make history when she is sworn in as Jefferson County Sheriff.
 
Stephens won the office with 51 percent of the vote to opponent, Ray Beck's, 49 percent.
 
She has served at the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office for 11 years and has 26 years of experience in law enforcement. 
 
When she takes office in January, Stephens will be the first African American, female Sheriff in Southeast Texas.
