HARDIN COUNTY - Some voters in Hardin County began the day Monday with prayer in the minutes before the doors opened at the courthouse polling station.
The group gathered for a prayer rally outside the courthouse about a half-hour before voting begin.
“We’ve done this before early voting, the last six times,” said organizer Sue Cleveland.
“I just felt led to do it. The first time we did this we had about five people. Today, there were around 25.”
Cleveland said the purpose is not to promote any specific church or political party, but to ask for guidance. She said the group also hopes to encourage people to take part in the electoral process.
“It’s non-partisan, non-denominational. We just want God to bless us and bless our country and keep all candidates safe. We hope they will seek God in the things they do,” said Cleveland.
Early Voting has begun and will go through Friday Nov. 4
