GOP Rep. says Clinton has "mental impairment"

WASHINGTON - Republican Texas Representative Louis Gohmert said Friday that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has “special needs” and that she has “mental impairment.”

Representative Gohmert made the comments while speaking to a crowd at the Value Voters Summit. The congressman also intimated that Clinton’s health is failing, which is an Internet conspiracy theory.

“Since most people here are Christian, and I’m serious about this, a true believer knows what Jesus did, and still does, and you don’t make fun of people who are impaired or have special needs. Whether you like her or not, Hillary Clinton has made clear, she is mentally impaired.”

The crowd of “Value Voters” erupted in laughter at Gohmert’s comment.

“This is not somebody you should be making fun of. I get the impression that in law school and along the way, she’s been very smart,” Gohmert said tongue in cheek. “But I don’t know, maybe it was the concussion, the fall back when she did, or maybe, who knows, they won’t tell us what’s really going on with her.”

Gohmert then discussed destroying cell phones and said maybe someone hit her with a hammer before finishing saying, “We need to be praying for Hillary Clinton. There’s special needs, there’s mental impairment. I mean, seriously, she can’t remember.”
