Fr. Jim strikes again, giving gifts to family after flood and fire

Fr. Jim Sichko has impacted yet another family in need after disaster in Orange County. Tonight we tell you how he put a smile on the Johnson family's face earlier today.

Since Harvey made landfall, 12 News has been tracking the generosity of Orange native and papal missionary of mercy Fr. Jim Sichko.

On Monday, he reached out to Christina and Grant Johnson after their previously flooded home along Highway 12 north of Mauriceville caught fire over the weekend, burning everything they had left to the ground.

During the fire the trailer they were living in caught fire, and the now displaced couple and their three children are living with other family members with just a few items to their name.

Sichko decided to pick their spirits up by delivering a message of mercy to the family along with $1,000 in gift cards and a 55-inch smart TV for them to have once they hopefully move into a promised FEMA trailer in the next few weeks.

Troy Kless reported last weekend that local families in both Mauriceville and Orange plan to donates clothing, blankets and toiletries fot Johnson family.

Mrs. Johnson tries to maintain a positive attitude at all times and keep a smile on her face even through flood, fire, and surprise. You can watch and listen to her reaction in the story reported during our 6:00p.m. newscast on Monday in the video above.
