Fourth of July: Southeast Texas guide to fireworks, concerts and more

SOUTHEAST TEXAS - Southeast Texans have no shortage of things to do this July 4.  The Golden Triangle area has concerts, carnivals and fireworks displays planned to celebrate Independence Day 2017. Most of the events are free to the public. 

Here is the list:

 

BEAUMONT

  • 5 p.m. at Riverfront Park located at 805 Main St. free events.
  • 5 p.m. Flava Band and Still Cruisin'
  • 8 p.m. Symphony of Southeast Texas at Julie Rogers Theatre
  • 9 p.m. fireworks.

BURKEVILLE

4th of July celebration at the Burkeville Fire Hall located on CR 2095 starting at 4 p.m. - Free burgers and hot dogs, jump houses, water slides for kids.  Fireworks show at 9 p.m.

 

JASPER

July 1 - Huge fireworks display at Sandy Creek Park.  Evetns start at 4 p.m. Fireworks start around 9:30  p.m. 

 

LAKE CHARLES

Free annual Red White Blue & You Celebration held at the Lake Charles Civic Center located at 900 Lakeshore Drive.  The parade starts at 6 p.m. on Ryan Street.   Fireworks over the lake.

 

NEDERLAND

Sixth annual Fourth of July fireworks held at Doornbos Park located at 2301 Avenue H in Nederland. Event starts at 6 p.m. July 4. Fireworks around 9:15 p.m.

 

ORANGE

Free fireworks and concert hosted by the Orange Convention & Visitors Bureau.   5-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 4 at Riverfront Boardwalk and Pavilion located at 601 W. Division. More information 409-883-1011.

 

PORT ARTHUR

  • Fourth of July at Lamar State College Port Arthur with the City of Port Arthur and Motiva Enterprises. Free family event starts at 7 p.m. inside the Carl Parker Multipurpose Center, located at 1800 Lakeshore Drive in Port Arthur. Activities for kids and adults, live entertainment and much more including free ice cream provided by Motiva. Fireworks show starts at 9 p.m. just outside on the seawall. Free parking.

 

PORT NECHES

4th of July Concert at Riverfront Park.  Free admission.  Local bands Harrison Swift and Britt Godwin. Also Kyle Frey of Opeluses, La. More info Gary Brewton 409-504-3634.

 

TROUT CREEK

Independence Day celebration starting at 7 p.m. Saturday (July 1st) at Trout Creek Fire Hall located on Hwy 87 south of Bleakwood. - Free hot links, popcorn and drinks.  Fireworks at 9 p.m.
