FANNETT - A hotspot known for its Cajun cooking isn’t letting Tropical Storm Harvey stop business. The Pine Tree Lodge in Fannett has been closed since the floods, but the owner is working long hours to reopen the restaurant that took in about two feet of flood water.
“Customers came in the past and they fish, they hunt, and hangout,” said Sandy Miller, the owner. It's just grown throughout the years.”
In order to meet elevation guidelines, the pine tree lodge must be elevated an additional four feet.
“It’s because we want to keep this environment and if we change it too much, then it won't be the same.”
Pine Tree Lodge is expected to re-open by September of next year.
