Police say 29-year-old Gretta Franks was struck & killed

New details in the investigation into a body found in a ditch off Interstate 10 in Orange.

A family member confirms to KBMT, the identity of the victim is 29 year old Gretta Giovanni-Franks, of Lacassine, La.

Orange Police are investigating the case as a possible homicide.

Police were called to the scene in the 24-hundred block of South Lutcher drive a little before 11 Saturday morning when someone walking in that area observed the body.

Suzzane Shaw from Orange says the area is too dark for comfort.

"I mean, I feel like there should be more lighting here and I mean I just don't know what to think about what happened. It makes me scared." Said Shaw.

Police believe the driver may have hit Franks with the front passenger side of the car.

They are now looking for a car that might have front end damage or right mirror damage.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
