Donuts and donations: Beaumont Police raise money for Special Olympics

Cops and donuts: true or not, it's a stereotype you've not doubt heard before. Friday, though, Beaumont Police were the ones serving up the tasty treat for a good cause.

The officers worked at the two Dunkin' Donuts locations in Beaumont, accepting tips that were then donated to the Special Olympics.

"This is just part of us trying to give back to our community and help out in our local programs that benefit our citizens," said Officer Haley Walters.

The Special Olympics provides programming for more than 700 children and adults with intellectual disabilities across the Beaumont area.
