Brake malfunction causes motorcycle wreck on South LHS drive

A 25-year-old motorcyclist was traveling Southbound on South LHS drive in Lumberton when his brakes malfunctioned and he lost control of the bike.

LUMBERTON - A 25-year-old motorcyclist was traveling Southbound on South LHS drive in Lumberton when his brakes malfunctioned and he lost control of the bike.

Lumberton Police received the call about the crash right before 7:30 Thursday evening.

According to Sergeant Chad Wilson with Lumberton Police Department, the motorcyclist was traveling with three other motorcyclists when he lost control and crashed into one of the other motorcycles. After the first initial crash, he then ran into the vehicle in front of him and came to a complete stop.

According to witnesses, the motorcyclist had injuries to his ankles. He was transported by Lumberton EMS to St. Elizabeth with non-life threatening injuries.
