Beaumont Police traffic stop yields 6 kilos of cocaine

BEAUMONT - Beaumont Police officers discovered about six kilos of cocaine after a traffic stop along Interstate Ten Tuesday morning.

Aubrey Canady, 41, of Jacksonville, Florida, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance after officers discovered about six kilos of what tuned out to be cocaine after a field test according to a release from the Beaumont Police Department.

Officers with the Beaumont Police Department's "Criminal Interdiction Unit"  made a traffic stop on eastbound Interstate Ten near the Walden Road exit according to the release.

Canady was released from the Jefferson County Correctional Facility Wednesday on a $100,000 bond according to jailer.
