BEAUMONT - A Beaumont family of four finally back home after three months in a hotel just in time for Thanksgiving.
The cooking began bright and early for Jamie Evans from sweet potato casserole to fried turkey.
“It’s nothing like being in your own home and in your own kitchen.” She said.
It was the first time she was able to cook for her family since Harvey took their home away.
“I’m so happy to be home. I was waiting for this moment to come and its here and I feel so blessed to be able to be home and eating with my family.”
Mark Evans spent the last three months fixing his home making it his goal to get his wife and two young daughters, Charmaine and Jaymecka, back in time for Thanksgiving.
On Monday, The Evans were surprised with new carpet, bedroom sets and new appliances for their kitchen thanks to the Harvest for Lost Souls and Con’s HomePlus.
“My deadline was Thanksgiving. They were worried, I was not worried. I honestly wasn’t worried because my goal was to be back here and I am back at my house for Thanksgiving.” said Evans.
The Evans officially got to sleep at their home on Thanksgiving night since Harvey three months ago.
