Appeals court rules against school district motions for dismissal, rehearing in cheerleader case

An appeals court denied motions by the Kountze school district to dismiss and grant a rehearing in the case of the Kountze cheerleaders.

The Ninth Court of Appeals court denied two motions filed by the Kountze Independent School District.

If the district wants to go further they will have to petition the Texas Supreme Court.

The district has 45 days to file an appeal to the Texas Supreme court if it is going to do so and can ask for a 15 day extension if needed.
