17-year-old indicted for murder of Beaumont man

BEAUMONT - A 17-year-old is indicted for murder after witnesses say he shot and killed a man in Beaumont neighborhood on May 6.

The grand jury handed up the one-count indictment this week charging A’Bravion Holts in the shooting death of 32-year-old Roland Darbonne.

Beaumont Police were called to a home at the 2500 of Broadway around 5:15 p.m. When they got there, they found Roland Darbonne with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body.

He was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly before 6 p.m.

A witness that was speaking with 33-year-old Keneth Holts near Darbonne’s apartment witnessed a suspect holding a semi-automatic handgun in his right hand.

The witness then stated that Keneth asked the suspect “What the f***, nephew, what did you do that for?”

The suspect then took off running east on Broadway street.

The suspect was later identified as A’Bravion Holts, the nephew to Keneth Holts.
