Liberty County Sheriff's Office investigates after 2 year old nearly drowns

The Liberty County Sheriff's office is investigating the near drowning of a two-year-old boy.

Sunday afternoon, Liberty County dispatch received a frantic call for help.

The boy's parents say the child was found underwater in their 3' deep plastic pool during a family barbecue.

When the Deputy arrived at the home off CR 605 in Dayton, family members at the home told him the parents were on their way to the hospital with the child.

The Deputy caught up to the parents at Waco St. and Highway 90, where members of the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department were performing CPR on the boy.

Liberty County EMS arrived and continued CPR until a medical helicopter reached the scene and took the child to Herman Memorial hospital in Houston.

The boy's condition is not known at this time.
