The Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD board of trustees is asking voters to consider a $56 million bond in the May 11th election.
The bond calls for improvements at all six schools in the district including major reconstruction to the entrances of schools to make them more secure.
Many of the LCM buildings are 50 to 60 years old and if the bond is approved, those facilities would be torn down and re-built.
If passed, the average LCM resident would have to pay about 25 dollars a month more in property taxes.
There will be two community forums in April to discuss the bond.
The first is on the 15th in the Mauriceville Middle School cafeteria the other on the 18th at the Little Cypress Junior High library both meetings are at 6:30 p.m.
