Jefferson County authorities release sketch of homicide victim

Many questions remain after Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies found the body of an unidentified woman in a hunting lease area off Tram Road Friday night.

"She's someone's daughter, someone's mother, someone's neighbor. Somebody in this community knows who she is, they just don't know she's missing," said Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy Rod Carroll Saturday afternoon.

Deputies say a passerby discovered the body just feet from a canal around 5 p.m. Friday after noticing the gate to the area was open.  He called the Sheriff's Office and deputies began investigating what they're calling a murder.

Deputy Carroll released this description of the victim on Saturday:

  • 300 lbs
  • Black hair with some graying
  • Protruding top teeth with significant gap
  • No tattoos
  • Painted toe and finger nails maroon or red burgundy
  • Ring finger on each hand had ring

Officials believe she is from Beaumont, but are not positive. They are asking the public to come forward with any information on her or on those responsible for her death.

"If anyone saw a vehicle leaving this area, or was working out here, we need to hear from you," said Carroll.

Crimestoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest in this case.
