Inspection stickers won't stick around in Texas

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles has announced that drivers will no longer be required to have separate vehicle registration and inspection stickers. Instead, the two will be combined starting in March 2015.

This change to one sticker will crack down on that and save the state more than $2 million. Starting next spring drivers will be required to first get and pass a vehicle inspectin. And then renew their registration.

The DMV says some positives of the change will be that drivers only have to remember one date instead of two and it will increase visibility on windshields.

Fees are not expected to change.
