Hurricane Hermine takes aim on Apalachee Bay

Hurricane Hermine, is about 45 miles to the South-Southeast of Apalachicola, near Latitude 29.1N...Longitude 84.8 West.  The storm is moving North-Northeast at 14 mph with winds of 80 mph.  The storm will make landfall later tonight around Apalachee Bay.  

A recent Hurricane Hunter flight measured wind gusts to nearly 100 mph.

Offshore buoy repots waves of 24 feet and hurricane force winds.

Hurricane Warnings are in effect between Suwannee River and Mexico Beach along Florida's Gulf Coast.  

Friday and Saturday, Hermine will move along the U.S. Southeast Coast where Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect.  The storm will then move north off the Mid-Atlantic Coast.  Early next week, Hermine will be off the coast of New Jersey where Tropical Storm Watches are in effect. Great uncertainty exists on if this storm will affect New England at this time.
