The Hamshire-Fannett school district has announced classes will resume for elementary students beginning Thursday after a fire destroyed a portion of the school a week ago.
Investigators believe the fire started in the principal's office but a cause remains under investigation.
12News joined the school board yesterday for an exclusive look inside the damaged school.
Destroyed were eight classrooms, the auditorium and some front offices.
Tuesday the district informed parents air quality tests are good and students will return to school this week.
The district says Pre-k through second graders and life skills students will return on Thursday.
Life skills students will relocate to the high school for class.
Pre-k through 2nd grade will go back to the elementary.
And Third graders will return to class Friday but will be relocated to the middle school.
