EXCLUSIVE: Dashboard footage of DWI suspect hitting Groves police car

12News has obtained some incredible footage taken from the dashboard camera inside a Groves Police car. The video, provided to 12News by the Groves Police Department, shows Sergeant John Rabalais' squad car being rear-ended by a suspected drunk driver on 25th Street Monday night.

After a short chase, the driver is stopped a few blocks down the road by Rabalais and a responding officer. One of the officers can be heard yelling, "Get your hands up!" off camera. The suspected drunk driver, 35-year-old Merlicia Domingo of Port Arthur, was arrested and charged with evading arrest, failing to stop after an accident, and DWI.

Rabalais suffered minor injuries in the crash. Groves City Marshall Jeff Wilmore says Rabalais took Tuesday off to rest at home and that he is expected to return by the end of the week.
