Calvin Walker with Walker's Electric Company asked the Beaumont I.S.D. to re-issue three checks seized by the F.B.I. during a raid on his home.
High profile attorney Dick Deguerin argued the F.B.I. was holding more than $500,000 worth of checks written by the district to his client Calvin Walker.
Deguerin argued his client was always licensed while working for the district, and that an audit to clear his name is currently impossible because the F.B.I. has seized all documents and computers owned by Walker.
Deguerin also took issue with media reports that Walker overcharged the district, and used excessive wattage on electrical work.
Deguerin represented David Koresh of the Branch Davidians against the F.B.I. back in the 90's.
No action was taken by the board on whether those checks will be re-issued.
