Easter weekend, busiest of crawfish season

If you have a craving for crawfish join the club! Crawfish farmers say Easter weekend is the busiest one of the season.

Farmer John Gaulding says because the demand is so high the price of mudbugs usually jumps up about 20 to 25 cents per pound.

Because mudbugs are such a hot commodity during Easter gaulding usually recommends reserving them two weeks in advance.

Even though farmers try to stock up before this weekend many sellers will run out.

Gaulding says we had sufficient rainfall during the winter and most lakes were replenished so he foresees a good supply of crawfish this season.

He also says the price should go back down in a week.
