Reward offered in search for suspect in attempted Beaumont post office robbery

BEAUMONT - A reward is being offered by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in an attempted robbery of the main post office on Walden Road Thursday morning.

The suspect, who is described as a white man in his 60's with gray hair in a ponytail midway down his back, medium build, about 5'9" wearing a plain white t-shirt, attempted to rob the U.S. Post Office on Walden Road at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday morning according to a release from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

The suspect approached the counter and demanded cash from a clerk according to a postal inspector.

The reward offered is up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

The Postal Inspection Service asks that no one attempt to apprehend the suspect and instead call them.
