Liberty County deputies seek answers in shooting death of pony

LIBERTY - A reward is being offered in the case of the shooting death of a pony in Liberty County.

"Chicken Nugget,"a pony described as a "treasured family pet," was shot in the head sometime overnight Tuesday night, November 7, or early Wednesday morning, November 8, according to a release from the Liberty County Sheriff's Office.

"Chicken Nugget's" body was discovered at about 10:30 a.m. in a pasture on the family's ranch on Private Road 2045 in Liberty County the morning of November 8 the release said. 

Deputies are investigating the death of the pony and ask that anyone with information call the sheriff's office at (936) 336-4500.

Multi-County Crime Stoppers, which serves Montgomery, Liberty and San Jacinto Counties is offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for killing "Chicken Nugget."

Callers with information on the case can remain anonymous and call Multi-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392 STOP (7867).
