Elderly woman shot in head in Beaumont Wednesday released from hospital; suspect still at-large

BEAUMONT - The elderly woman who was shot in the head during an aggravated robbery Wednesday has been released from the hospital as police continue to search for a suspect.

The woman, who Beaumont Police confirm was released from the hospital, was shot by an unknown assailant who police believe then stole her car.

Police also confirmed that there was a sighting of the woman's stolen vehicle yesterday afternoon in Hardin County near Sour Lake.

Police are looking for a suspect, or suspects, and are asking the public to watch for the victim's light bronze 2010 Honda CRV with Texas license plate HYF5576.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was shot in the parking lot of the Best Years Center according to the Beaumont Police Department.
