Deputies arrest Kountze woman for aiding escaped inmate

KOUNTZE - A 31-year-old Kountze woman has been arrested and charged with facilitating escape for her part in aiding an escaped Hardin County Jail inmate.

Deputies say Kala Renay Kinsey, of Kountze, knowingly provided support and transportation to escaped Hardin County Jail inmate Donavin Cantwell Thursday morning according to a release from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office.

Cantwell walked from the jail to a nearby home where he and Kinsey got into a vehicle and fled the area according to the sheriff's office.

Kinsey and the vehicle were found in Tyler County near Warren, but Cantwell had already left the area according to the sheriff's office.

Kinsey has been arrested and charged with "facilitating escape," which is a felony, according to the release.

She is currently in the Hardin County Jail where her bail is set at $25,000 the release said.

Cantwell is described as 5’11” weighing 160 pounds, with very short brown hair, blue eyes with a short beard.

He was in jail on auto theft, evading arrest and felon in possession of a firearm charges.
