Beaumont woman charged after shooting her child's father during domestic disturbance

BEAUMONT - A Beaumont woman is in jail after allegedly shooting the father of her child Monday morning at a Beaumont residence.

Sherecole Wilridge, 32, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault-family violence according to a release from the Beaumont Police Department.

Police were called to a home in the 1200 block of Rainer for a reported disturbance and upon arrival found that an altercation had taken place between Wilridge and the father of her child.

During the altercation Wilridge got a handgun and shot the victim police said.

The victim, who suffered a non-life threatening injury, was transported to a local hospital.

After detectives interviewed witnesses Wilridge was arrested and transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Center.

Her bond has not yet been set according to jailers.
