Beaumont Police: We will work hard to remove guns from criminals

Beaumont police find cache of guns

BEAUMONT - Beaumont Police pledged to keep removing guns from criminals Friday after announcing the seizure of several  weapons they believe may be linked to incidents of violence in the city.

"We are just thankful to have them out of criminals hands, this possibly could of stopped further violence," said Cody Guedry, a Beaumont Police Sergeant.

Police learned recently that several felons were in a home in the 3100 block of Gulf Street with a cache of weapons according to a release from the Beaumont Police Department.

The department's SWAT team along with the narcotics and criminal investigations divisions executed a search warrant on the home at about 6:30 a.m. Friday.

When officers entered the home they detained three suspects and located a "variety of guns" as well as meth and marijuana after searching the home the release said.

Detectives are investigating and charges are expected to be announced at a later date according to the release.

"Moving forward, hopefully this will lead to other cache of weapons and other things we can solve crimes with," said Guedry.

Police ask residents to contact Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers at 409-833-TIPS(8477) if they have any information about any illegal activity involving guns.
