Beaumont Police investigating Wednesday night shooting, robbery at IH-10 hotel

BEAUMONT - Beaumont Police are continuing to investigate a Wednesday night shooting at a Beaumont hotel.

The shooting happened during an aggravated robbery at the Quality Inn in the 1500 block of South Interstate 10 according to a release from the Beaumont Police Department.

Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 10:11 p.m., officers responded to an aggravated robbery at Quality Inn, located at  1590 IH 10 South.

A 29 year old Beaumont man told officers he was in the parking lot, walking to his vehicle,  when he was confronted by a black male,  6’00” tall, light complected, wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

The suspect was crouched down by the victim’s vehicle and appeared to have been waiting for the victim.

The suspect had a handgun and demanded money.

The victim ran and the suspect chased him. The suspect fired the handgun at the victim twice.

The victim was struck in the arm once and fell to the ground.

The suspect grabbed the victim’s back pack and ran across the highway.
