Cedar Park man sentenced to 40 years in girlfriend's murder

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The man who fatally shot his girlfriend at their Cedar Park apartment in February 2015 and called 911 the next day to report her death has pleaded guilty to her murder.

According to KVUE’s partners at the Austin American-Statesman, Adam Solis, 32, pleaded guilty on Nov. 9 to the murder of Katie Eager, 24, and was sentenced to 40 years in prison. Solis will also be credited with 629 days already served, according to the plea agreement released Monday. Police alleged in 2015 that Solis shot Eager multiple times at an apartment along South Lakeline Boulevard on Feb. 16, 2015. Officials said he then fled to his parents' house in San Antonio, and did not call police until returning to his apartment the following afternoon.

Solis was arrested at his family’s San Antonio home on Feb. 18, 2015. Before his arrest, Solis posted on Facebook that he was angry at Eager’s neighbors for not calling police.

"I thank everyone for heart felt condolences. I am doing as good as can be expected. Im in San Antonio, with family. I would also like to express how much hate i have for the neighbors who heard but didnt call 911. I dont think ill ever get over the horrifying scene i came home to. I love and miss you so terribly baby. You may be lost to me and our friends and families but you will never be forgotten. You are and always will be my one and only light. I love you!"

Eager was a manager at Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline.
