Commissioners Monday to decide best way to fill bench left vacant after Judge's death

Jefferson County Commissioners Monday will consider how best to fill the County Court at Law #3 vacancy created by the death of Judge John Paul Davis.

Commissioners will discuss and possibly make a decision during Monday's meeting.

Judge Davis, who served more than two decades on the bench, passed away earlier this month after an official found him unresponsive in his home. He was 74.

Funeral services for Judge Davis were held Feb. 15.
