Chicago man arrested after throwing baby from moving car, police say

Chicago police arrested a 46-year-old man after they say he threw an 8-month-old baby from a moving car.

A police spokesperson said the man and his 23-year-old girlfriend got into an argument Monday. When the girlfriend's 7-year-old tried to intervene, the man reportedly hit the boy and threw the baby from the vehicle.

Police say the man ran over the baby as he sped off.

Both children are listed in stable condition at the hospital.

The man, identified as Joseph Fults, is not the father of either child. He is charged with one misdemeanor count each of battery and domestic battery, police said early Tuesday.

Other charges are pending.
