BISD agenda includes possible termination of superintendent, administration RIF

The first agenda for the Beaumont Independent School District's new Board of Managers has been posted.  The 10-page document includes some major decisions to be considered by the new board. 



Once new board members take the oath of office, they will hear remarks by Commissioner of Education Michael Williams.

Public comments will be allowed at the beginning of the meeting and will be limited to 30 minutes.

The first action items include consideration of Phase 1 of a reduction in force in administration and possible termination of seven employees from the administration staff.  The list includes embattled BISD Communication Director Jessie Haynes.  Board members will also consider terminating letters of engagement with attorney Christopher Tritico who represented administrators who appealed the TEA's decision to install a board of managers.

The last item on the agenda concerns Dr. Timothy Chargois ,Superintendent of Schools.  The item reads, "Action on Employment of Dr. Timothy Chargois, including possible amendment to contract terms, suspension, and/or proposed termination"
