The Beaumont Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in solving a hit-and-run accident that left a Beaumont man dead Friday morning.
Police found the body of 33-year-old 33-year-old Devin Kyle Julian near Mazzio's Restaurant in the 5000 block of Eastex Freeway at about 5:30 a.m. That is on the Southbound side of the freeway between Dowlen and Lucas roads.
Police say they are interviewing witnesses and looking at business's surveilance cameras to try and identify the type of vehicle that struck the man.
Police are asking that local auto body repair shops be on the lookout for anyone trying to repair damage to the front right section of their vehicle. Specifically, they say the suspect vehicle has damage to their right front headlight cover, right front turn signal lens cover, or right front side marker cover.

At about 5:30 this morning, a patrol officer found the body of a man along the west service road of the 5000 block of Eastex Freeway. The man appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.
At this early point of the investigation, officers are collecting physical evidence found at the scene and are interviewing potential witnesses. They are also in the process of determining if video surveillance cameras from adjacent businesses may have captured any images that can lead to the identity of the vehicle that struck the man. Investigators are asking all businesses in the area with surveillance cameras to contact the Traffic Unit at 980-7271 or our Department Communications Center at 832-1234. We are also asking any person who may have witnessed this incident to call those same numbers. You may also leave an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 833-TIPS. If your tip provides information that leads to the identity of the vehicle or person responsible for this fatal hit and run then you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
Traffic Unit Investigators are still working to identify the victim and to determine the circumstances surrounding his death. Judge Nancy Beaulieu has ordered an autopsy, which is to be performed later this morning.
