Tuesday marks the second anniversary that a pregnant Beaumont woman and her boyfriend where gunned down in Beaumont.
Police say Dashondra Guillory, 27, and Israel Manuel, 25, were found shot in the 1500 block of Bean Courts Street. Guillory died at the scene. She was four months pregnant. Manuel passed away from his injuries at a local hospital.
The two men police say are responsible are brothers Jeremy and Travis Kneeland.
On the anniversary, Guillory's mother visited the site where she placed a white cross and pictures.
She went to the site with Guillory's two children, now ages seven and four.
"Everything that they are is what she is and was. I just really miss her," said Demetricia Holloway.
Holloway is now raising her grandchildren and says they pray to Guillory nightly.
"Every night, we go to bed and she gives kisses to heaven and she gives hugs and she tells her mom bye, every night. He remembers more than she does. They talk about her. They miss her," she said.
Both the Kneeland brothers have been charged with capital murder. They sit in jail waiting to be tried.
"I really want to see them punished. I would like for them not to have the death penalty. But, if it happens, its okay with me," she said, "I'm just ready for it to be closed so we can push forward. It's just like we're stuck and I don't want to be stuck anymore."
Police say it was a drug-related crime. Holloway says her daughter did not know the suspects.
Trial dates for the Kneeland brothers have been set for later this year.
