Beaumont man indicted for July bank robbery

A Beaumont man is indicted in connection with a July credit union robbery.

Christopher Michael Price, 36, of Beaumont, was indicted this week for aggravated robbery. Police say he robbed the Safe Credit Union located in the 200 block of North 11th Street.

Around 3 p.m. on July 24, a Tuesday afternoon, officers say Price pretended to be filling out a deposit slip before approaching a teller and demanding money.

Police say Price fled the bank before officers arrived. They arrested him on August 31.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Price is held at the Jefferson County Jail on $100,000 bond.

If convicted, Price faces up to 20 years in prison.
