Beaumont hotel clerk robbed at gunpoint

A police spokesperson tells 12News that a Beaumont hotel clerk was not injured in an armed robbery Saturday night, but the robber made off with cash from the business.

Around 11:30p.m. Saturday officers were called to the Red Roof Inn located at 2310 Interstate 10 in Beaumont. The clerk told officers that a man had just robbed the hotel at gunpoint.

The robber confronted the clerk, pulled out a handgun, and demanded money. The clerk complied and the robber ran south form the hotel. The robber did not physically injure the clerk.

Officers say the robber is a black male, about 6'02", with a heavy build, wearing a long sleeve dark colored T-shirt, dark colored jeans, dark colored shoes, and a black and red Chicago Bulls baseball cap.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Beaumont Crime Stopers at 409-833-TIPS (8477.)
