Beaumont game room operator scuffles with robbers

The operator of a Beaumont game room was able to fight off a robber, but ended up losing his wallet when a second bandit joined the scuffle.

Just after 8 p.m. Saturday officers were called to the 2600 block of Avenue A.  The victim said he was closing the game room when the first robber rushed in and struck him with his fist.  The two fought until the robber called for a help from an accomplice who was outside the business.  The second robber joined in and the two were able to remove the contents of the victim's pockets before scurrying away.

The Beaumont Police Department issued the following news release Sunday afternoon:

Subject:Robbery - 2610 Ave A

On 11/17/2012 at 8:07 PM, officers with the Uniformed Patrol Division of the Beaumont Police Department responded to a Robbery at 2610 Ave. A. This location is a game room that is operated by the victim. The victim stated that he was attempting to close the game room when Suspect #1 opened the door and struck him in the back of the head with his fist. He was then forced to the ground by the suspect, but the victim attempted to fight off the attack. As he resisted, the suspect called for a second suspect to assist him. The two suspects removed the contents of the victim's pockets then fled the business. The suspects were last seen running west on Cartwright.

Suspect #1 was a black male, 5'10" - 6'00" with a dark complexion, heavy build, with a moustache, wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

Suspect #2 was also a black male, 6'00" - 6'2", thin build, with a brown complexion, wearing a grey shirt and blue jeans.

The victim does not know either of the suspects.
