A well-known Beaumont attorney has been indicted on one count of burglary of a habitation.
Police arrested Alto Watson May 22 and charged him with burglary of a habitation and family violence.
Bond for Watson has gone up and down dramatically since he was taken to the jail. His bond was set at $25,000, but Judge Layne Walker added four bonds of $3,000,000 each because the previous month Watson had pleaded guilty to four counts of theft and was awaiting sentencing. Judge Walker later reduced Watson's bonds totaling $12,000,000 on the theft charges to a total of $30,000.
Watson bonded out of jail May 31.
Watson has admitted taking money belonging to the Gilbert Adams Law Firm where he worked, and also from one of the firm's clients.
