HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police say they've found the body of Vy Ngoc Bao-Pham, the 17-year-old who was at the center of an Amber Alert.
Police say they found Bao-Pham's body in Sims Bayou after her 19-year-old boyfriend allegedly admitted to killing her and then drew a map leading them to the location of her body.
Bao-Pham was last seen Monday at an apartment complex in the 8200 block of Broadway. Police say she was supposed to be going to a friend's home at another apartment nearby, but never showed up. And when her family received a cryptic text message demanding a significant amount of cash for her safe return, they contacted police.
Earlier Wednesday, police said they didn't think money was not the motivator for the abduction. Police say it seemed to be fueled by an affair of the heart, that Bao-Pham's boyfriend was more enamored with him than she was with him.
"He made it very clear to us that they were very much in love and one day hope to marry," Zitzmann said.
Police have not yet released the identity of her boyfriend, but he's been charged with capital murder.
No other details were immediately available.
