A spokesperson for Beaumont Fire-Rescue says a house fire Sunday morning appears to have been intentionally set.
Just after 1 a.m. firefighters responded to a blaze at a house located on Hartel St. in south Beaumont. When they arrived they found a house heavily involved with fire.
Firefighters were able to control the flames within 15 minutes, but were on the scene until after 3 a.m. working to put out "hot spots." The fire caused heavy damage to the house.
The house was vacant. No injuries have been reported.
