The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has arrested two people and are looking for a third in connection with the weekend discovery of a body along S. China Road.
Arthur Christopher Harmon, 21, of Beaumont, Yiannis Nikolaos Mihail, 31, of Beaumont, have been charged with Murder. Cody Jamar Lewis, 27, of Beaumont, is charged with tampering with physical evidence.
Harmon and Mihail have been arrested. Deputies are looking for Lewis.
Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Spokesperson Deputy Rod Carroll said Lewis should be considered armed and dangerous. No attempt should be made to detain him. Anyone with information on his location should contact Crime Stoppers at 409-833-8477. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to the location and arrest of Mr. Lewis or any other wanted fugitive.
Deputy Carroll Saturday said a call came in around 9:30 a.m. Saturday reporting the discovery of a body off South China Road. This is in a rural area of the county between Nome and China.
Deputy Carroll said the body is that of an adult white male of an undetermined age. The body was found naked and wrapped in a sheet in the backseat of a newer model tan-colored Volkswagen Jetta. The vehicle was found in a ditch just off the road. The body was discovered by a passerby.
Jefferson County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Ray Chesson declared the victim deceased.
The Sheriff's Office is awaiting confirmation of dental records in order to positively identify the victim, which should take place over the next several days. The investigation is on-going.
