American Airlines seeks revenue guarantee withdraw to make up shortfall

According to our news partners at the Beaumont Enterprise, American Airlines is requesting money from the $1.5 million guarantee revenue pool.  That's the money that area governments and businesses pooled as a guarantee to get the airline to come to the Jack Brooks Regional Airport.

Flights between Jefferson County and Dallas-Fort Worth began February 14.  The aircraft have been running about half-full on three of the four scheduled flights per day.

When the airline doesn't meet its base cost for operating a flight subject to the agreement, it is allowed to dip into the revenue guarantee to make up the difference.
