Accused Port Arthur teacher released on bond

A Port Arthur teacher has been released on $10,000 bond after she was indicted on a charge of injury to a child.

A Jefferson County Grand Jury Thursday indicted Ruby Gunner, 62, of Port Arthur.  She is a teacher at Lee Elementary where an 11-year-old student accused her of assaulting him.

The incident is said to have happened at the school last month. The boy claims Gunner left bruises on his face and scratches on his back.

Gunner turned herself in Thursday night and posted bond.
