HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A jogger has found a missing child safe after an Amber Alert was issued for her early this morning.
Houston Police say 8-month-old Genesis Haley was taken from a gas station in north Harris County early this morning. She was in her mother's 2004 green, 4-door, Saturn Ion at the Texaco Gas Station at 1110 North Sam Houston Parkway West early this morning when the car was stolen.
Police later found the stolen vehicle, but the car seat along with Genesis was still missing.
Around 8:30am, a jogger called 9-1-1 saying she heard a baby crying in some bushes near the side of a road.
Police rushed to the scene and found the infant still in her car seat.
Police are still investigating the case. Anyone with information about who may have taken the child is asked to call the Houston Police Department at 713-308-3600.
