28 pounds of cocaine found in traffic stop

Beaumont police say officers found just over 28 pounds of cocaine and around $8,000 in a car during a traffic stop on Interstate 10.

Just before 9 p.m. Saturday, a Beaumont Police Department Narcotics Interdiction unit pulled over the driver of a GMC Acadia SUV with Florida licence plates.  Officers say the driver had the headlights turned off and was tailgating.

During the traffic stop, officers say they found 13 Kilos (around 28 pounds) of cocaine and cash inside the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Miltza Negron, 41, and Glenny Difo, 36, both of Orlando, Florida, were both arrested.  They have been charged with possession of a controlled substance.
