Many residents at home still cleaning out nearly three weeks after Harvey’s flooding.

“We are close to home anyway but I don’t think we will be able to rebuild because our insurance company is not covering us.” said Priscilla Watson.

Watson, along with her husband and daughter Michele, are now living in a trailer next to their damaged home in Pine Forest.

The Watsons are just one of the many families in the city waiting for a solution.

Mayor Cathy Nagel told 12News at least 260 homes were flooded out during Harvey including city hall.

That’s 98% of the city.

“We are working with FEMA trying to get them responses as soon as possible but it’s a slow process and everybody is just waiting.” Said Nagel.

The piles of debris remain on what seems like every corner. When the Cajun Special Forces pulled up to Chris Stanley’s driveway, he was more than grateful for the goods.

Stanley showed 12News the inside of his house, a place he refuses to give up on for his family of six.

“We got most of the mold out but there’s mold on the ceilings that’s gotta come down.” He said.

A distribution center has been set up for citizens at the Lone Star Chevron gas station on 3665 North Main.

They will distribute supplies on Thursday and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
