Investigators said alcohol was not involved but believe the driver was speeding.

There was a nice memorial set up at the scene of the crash Monday afternoon. The memorial had was a big balloon with the words “I love you” wrapped around the tree.

Jackson said it’s been tough for her because this is the second friend she’s lost.

“It always seems to be the people who care the most about anything,” said Jackson.

Vidor Police are continuing to investigate the wreck.

“I’d like to tell her I’m proud of her for everything she’s done between helping a lot of people and being nice to special needs kids and being nice to everyone,” said Jackson.
