Beaumont ISD official gives update on new Beaumont United

Dr. Shannon Allen, the Beaumont ISD Associate Superintendent of Secondary Administration, say's the district is estimating 2, 472 students to be enrolled into the new school.

BEAUMONT — A Beaumont ISD official spoke this afternoon at the Southeast Texas Press Club meeting, giving an update on Beaumont United.

Dr. Shannon Allen, the Beaumont ISD Associate Superintendent of Secondary Administration, say’s the district is estimating 2, 472 students to be enrolled into the new school.

They are in the process of adding 16 new classrooms and expect class sizes to be around 24 to 28 students per classroom.

The district is also planning on adding new stem, robotics, and drone programs to the school.

Dr. Allen tells says the programs that were around before the merger like gymnastics, and television production will still be offered next year.

Though there is still much to do before the school opens it’s doors in the fall, the district still plans to have everything finished on time.
